Documents and standards
EN 10204 defines types of inspection documents for metallic products. EN 12385-4 sets requirements for steel wire ropes for general lifting applications.
Slings and terminations
EN 13414 covers safety requirements for wire rope slings, while EN 13411 covers terminations of steel wire ropes. F.O.S. 5:1 means a 5:1 factor of safety; its applicability must be confirmed by the product documentation and the specific lifting requirements.

Which document confirms control of metallic products?
EN 10204 defines inspection document types. The specific document is requested from the supplier for the selected product and batch.
Which standards relate to wire rope slings?
Applicability is checked against requirements for wire ropes, slings and terminations, including EN 12385-4, EN 13414 and EN 13411. The document set is agreed for the specific configuration.
What does F.O.S. 5:1 mean?
It is a 5:1 factor of safety, not WLL or MBF. It must not be assigned to every sling without confirmation in the product calculation and documentation.
